Error when trying to verify identity

Ever since they implemented this trusted sign in location feature, I have been unable to log into my account. Everytime I enter my id and password I get sent to a page that says it wants to double check that its really me by sending a  code to my number. I hit ok, but all i get is an error message that says something went wrong try again in a few. I wait, try again, but it still happens. I've tried calling and chatting with ATT, but no one seems to know what the issue is.
